Pokémon has been one of the most successful film and game series since the 1990s. Since then, many of the little monsters have been added and bring joy to children. Adults who grew up with the fantasy creatures still love them today.
Although the universe has continued to grow and there are now countless Pokémon, Pikachu is still one of the most popular. One reason for this is that it has played a central role from the very beginning. This mainly applies to the series, in which it accompanies the main character Ash on his journey. His goal: to become the most successful Pokémon trainer of all time.
Normally, Pokémon stay in a so-called Pokéball until the trainer calls them. However, this doesn’t work for this little yellow companion, so he is part of every adventure. Over time, it has become the mascot for the Pokémon world.
Another reason for its popularity is the little creature’s stubborn character and cute design. Pokémon cannot speak, they just repeat their name over and over again, and so does Pikachu. These are two Japanese sound words. Pika stands for the sound of an electric spark and Chu for the beeping of a mouse. It is a so-called electric Pokémon that attacks its opponents with electric shocks.
Due to this cult status, it is not surprising that Pikachu is available in numerous versions. Made of plush, it is perfect for small children, as its round shape makes it an ideal soft toy. In the right size, it can be used as a cushion when out and about.
The plush figure comes in different versions. Pikachu is not only available in different sizes, but also laughing, winking or in costume. In a more recent movie, it appears as a master detective, and this version is also available. There are also key rings and special editions. Adults may also find a little companion in the form of Pikachu.
